Country Manager - Poland

About the Role

Poland represents our largest growth opportunity in Eastern Europe, with ambitious government EV targets and rapidly increasing consumer adoption. As Country Manager, you'll be responsible for all aspects of our Polish operations, from strategic planning to day-to-day execution.

You'll lead a team of 15+ professionals and manage relationships with key partners including Galeria Kaufland, Auchan, and major municipalities. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape Volta's future in one of Europe's most important EV markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all Volta operations across Poland, managing 80+ charging stations and growing
• Develop and execute market expansion strategy to achieve 200+ stations by 2026
• Build and manage relationships with key partners including shopping centers, hotels, and municipalities
• Oversee local team of 15+ employees including operations, business development, and customer service
• Drive revenue growth and operational efficiency across the Polish market
• Manage P&L responsibility for Poland operations with €8M+ annual revenue target
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and maintain relationships with government agencies
• Lead site acquisition and development projects for new charging locations
• Collaborate with headquarters on product development and technology rollouts
• Represent Volta at industry events and with key stakeholders in Poland

Requirements

• 10+ years of management experience, preferably in operations, retail, or infrastructure
• Proven track record of scaling operations and managing P&L in competitive markets
• Deep knowledge of Polish market dynamics, regulations, and business culture
• Fluent in Polish and English; additional languages (German, Czech) a plus
• Experience in energy, automotive, retail, or technology sectors preferred
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel frequently across Poland (50%+ travel expected)
• Valid driver's license and willingness to drive electric vehicles

• Experience with franchise or multi-location business models
• Knowledge of electric vehicle market and charging infrastructure
• Background in business development and partnership management
• Experience with government relations and regulatory compliance
• Track record of successful team building and talent development
• Strong analytical and financial management skills
• Experience with CRM and operations management systems
• Understanding of sustainability and environmental regulations
