Country Manager - Czech Republic & Slovakia

About the Role

Czech Republic and Slovakia represent Volta's most mature markets, with established operations and strong growth momentum. As Country Manager, you'll oversee our largest regional operation while driving expansion into new cities and partnerships.

You'll lead a team of 25+ professionals and manage relationships with key partners including major shopping centers, hotels, and government entities. This role offers the opportunity to shape Volta's continued leadership in Central Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Volta's operations across Czech Republic and Slovakia, managing 120+ charging stations
• Drive strategic expansion to achieve 250+ stations across both markets by 2026
• Build and maintain partnerships with major retailers, municipalities, and hospitality chains
• Manage cross-functional team of 25+ employees across operations, business development, and customer success
• Oversee P&L responsibility with €12M+ combined annual revenue target
• Ensure operational excellence with 99.5%+ uptime across all charging locations
• Navigate regulatory environments and maintain relationships with government agencies in both countries
• Lead site acquisition strategy focusing on high-traffic locations in major cities
• Collaborate with headquarters on product development and technology implementations
• Represent Volta at industry events and with key stakeholders across both markets

Requirements

• 10+ years of management experience in operations, retail, energy, or infrastructure sectors
• Proven track record of scaling multi-country operations and managing complex P&L
• Deep understanding of Czech and Slovak business environments and market dynamics
• Fluent in Czech/Slovak and English; German language skills highly advantageous
• Experience in energy, automotive, retail, or technology sectors strongly preferred
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing large, diverse teams
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Willingness to travel frequently across both countries (60%+ travel expected)
• Valid EU driver's license and commitment to electric vehicle adoption

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with government relations and regulatory compliance in CEE region
• Knowledge of Central European energy markets and infrastructure development
• Background in business development and strategic partnership management
• Experience with multi-site operations and franchise business models
• Track record of successful team building and organizational development
• Strong analytical and financial management capabilities
• Experience with digital transformation and technology platform implementation
• Understanding of EU regulations and cross-border business operations
