About the Role

As CFO of Volta, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial management across our rapidly expanding network of 500+ charging stations in 19 countries. You'll work directly with the CEO and executive team to drive strategic initiatives, manage investor relations, and prepare the company for its next phase of growth.

This role offers the opportunity to build and lead a world-class finance organization while contributing to the transition to sustainable transportation across Eastern Europe. You'll be joining at an exciting time as we scale our operations and prepare for potential public markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across 19 countries
  • Oversee financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions
  • Drive strategic financial initiatives including M&A, fundraising, and investor relations
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies
  • Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures
  • Lead the finance team of 15+ professionals across multiple locations
  • Support business development with financial modeling and deal structuring
  • Oversee treasury management, cash flow optimization, and currency hedging
  • Drive digital transformation of financial processes and systems
  • Prepare for potential IPO and public company readiness initiatives

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with 8+ years in senior leadership roles
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification required
  • Public company experience strongly preferred, ideally in high-growth technology or infrastructure
  • Proven track record in fundraising, M&A, and investor relations
  • Experience with international operations and multi-currency environments
  • Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making
  • Experience with ERP systems implementation and financial process optimization
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages a plus
  • MBA from top-tier university preferred
  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or mobility sectors highly valued

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of IFRS and local GAAP across European markets
  • Experience with venture capital and private equity funding processes
  • Track record of building and scaling finance organizations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with ESG reporting and sustainability metrics
  • Knowledge of energy markets and infrastructure financing
  • Proven ability to work with diverse, international teams
